PSA Air Filter Cover kits

These air filter covers can be added to any Mustang Cowl and will enhance its scale appearance. If you've ever tried to drill all 64 holes and get them evenly spaced and the same size, you know how time consuming and frustrating it can be. These laser cut covers are perfect and easy to install. They can be added during construction or to finished cowls and make a great combination when used with my exhaust kits.

Drawn using the original NAA microfilm, these covers are laser cut from aircraft grade plywood (all 64 holes!). They are easily pre-curved and can be covered with self adhesive aluminum tape (supplied in the kit and shown in the middle cover above), or painted to suit. The area of the cowl behind the holes can be opened up for additional engine compartment venting (roughly 1-3/4 sq in total in the 1/5 scale).

Two kit styles are available ...

SURFACE MOUNTED

This kit's covers are cut from 1/64" plywood and are designed to mount on the surface of the cowl. Each kit comes with two covers, self adhesive 0.005" aluminum foil, installation instructions and a positioning template. This style is very easy to install and with it's thin covers is highly realistic. The area underneath the grill holes can easily be cut out for added realism. This style does not normally require repainting pre-painted cowls.

FLUSH MOUNTED

These covers are cut from 1/32" plywood and are designed to mount flush with the surface of the cowl. Each kit comes with two covers, a pair of backing plates, spacers, fiberglass cloth, self adhesive 0.005" aluminum foil, installation instructions and a positioning template. More work to install than the flush mounted units, these are the ultimate in scale realism. They are normally installed before the cowl is painted.
